Here's our annual family "newsletter"

* ~ * FROM THE ROCKHOLD HOUSEHOLD * ~ *

Dear Friends and Family,

We had quite the year in 2007! Josh went from being a manager at Meijer to being an hourly employee, back to being a manager—all while working hard at being the director of the Saranac Youth Center. I am so proud of him for all of his hard work! The youth center work has been tough and discouraging at times, however, things are slowly but surely changing for the better.

We were quite surprised in late February to discover that we would be adding another child to our family. This made my student teaching much more difficult than I ever anticipated. Serving my students whole-heartedly while being nauseous for 24 hours a day proved to be too much to handle. Hopefully I will have completed remedial work (among other requirements handed down to me by GVSU) and will again attempt to begin my three semesters of student teaching in January 2009. If this happens, I will have a special education teaching degree in the spring of 2010.

Our family once again traveled to Canada in early August to serve the children on the Henvy Inlet Reserve near Britt, Ontario. We enjoyed seeing the families again and showing them God’s love through our actions with them and with each other. We will go to Canada again this year, as well as to a family reunion in Arkansas in July. Good thing we traded the Kia Rio in for a minivan!

Estelle has been so amazing to watch over the last year. In the beginning of January, she was still crawling. Now—she hardly ever walks; she’s usually running or hopping or just plain being goofy all over the place. She’s also beginning to get quite the little personality. It seems she’s always saying or doing something new every day around here; and she makes sure we recognize it!

On November 2, Zeke was born and we have come to realize that God blesses us through people like you in even the toughest of circumstances. He has gotten very big very fast (not that he was born little) and is turning into quite a happy little boy. I’m enjoying the at-home time I am able to spend with him and his big sister before I enter back into the “work” field.

Thank you for being a part of our family!

God bless you and yours,

Pam, Josh, Estelle, and Zeke

(and Samson too!)
